Welcome to a new week, lovebirds! Monday dawns gray and misty, and it's actually not long before a thunderstorm rolls in! You can, of course, kiss dramatically in the yard in the rain and risk getting struck by lightning-- or you can stay inside, cuddle in the conversation pit, USE THE GODDAMN BOOM BOOM ROOM or do anything else until the storm blows over by the evening! Don't worry, the rest of the week will be bright and sunny and beautiful!

There's also a new section of the house, weirdly enough! There's a bright turquoise door located near the bedroom and opening it leads to... a massive indoor pool. The water is a pleasant temperature, there's a hot tub, there's an assortment of flotation devices for those of you who might have trouble swimming (tubes, life vests, boogie boards, pool noodles that can also be used to wage Deadly Combat if you are Sara and Kasque or Jeritza or anyone else ready for Violence). And if you somehow didn't pack a swimsuit because why on earth would your canon let you have one--

Worry not!! There's a rack of swimsuits in every size you lot could need! The catch (or not): they're all sexy. Like. Barely there sexy. Impossibly adhering to you sexy. Shoelaces would maybe cover more sexy. Absolutely great to play Chicken Fight in sexy. You get the idea.

Anything having to do with being able to write is still also Not Present.

I haven't gotten to speak much with Milla. She's kind of an unknown for me, right now... if you know her, then maybe you could help with that too. [And she's represented, might we add, with a slightly oblong green candy that she's sorted into other unknown variables.]

Besides, I wouldn't exactly rule Rufus out just for saying that. You know that two people who argue a lot at the beginning sometimes sometimes end up becoming the closest when their rivalry makes sparks fly.

[Unlike Kasque's other, more violent rivalry. The Sara ship has not only sank; it never weighed anchor in the first place.]

Do you want him to choose you this week? [Yes, it was not an answer to her question.]

Milla... is complicated. She'd probably be mad if I tried to talk about her with any kind of authority, so let's skip that part.

[ Is there a hint of actual melancholy in Kasque's voice at that...? If so, she brushes it off quickly for the next part. ]

So far Rufus has been way too dull to make any sparks fly, but who knows, I guess. Maybe he looks really good in a swimsuit.

As for the other thing... Mm, it's super unlikely we'll get all the matches right this week, so I guess I don't really care? If he picks someone else and the numbers drop that will tell us something.

... Okay, we can sit on that for now. [The associated candies get pushed to the side.]

I don't know if I'd call anyone here particularly uninteresting. We all agreed to come, after all. For example, Rufus is confident that we can find all of our matches in just a week or two, so I think he's pretty good at getting what he wants!

[Maybe she just has numbers on the brain, though, since Kasque already broke that up. Buckle in, Kasque, because this is about to get embarrassing for everyone.]

We don't want our numbers to drop too much, because then it will be harder to determine the original matches. We know that Zagreus thought about choosing Blazing Sky, and just about everyone says they think she and Sara are a perfect match. That means two pairs with high chances would be apart already with one choice.

[Multiple demonstrations accompany this entire speech: When she's finished, Marcille has pushed several "couples" to the side. If they drop two likely matches, where does that leave them with the other eight couples?] ... Follow?

...Sure. It's not that complicated.

[ Kasque watches all the M&M movements without much enthusiasm. ]

But we don't get partial credit, you know. And even if we vote the same five right again tomorrow, if we don't get a new match, someone loses their wish, so it's also risk to keep too many of them the same. Are you okay with that?

No!! No one should have that chance taken away! [Sometimes high risk comes with high reward - but she likes to think she's never been one for being completely reckless.

She leans forward a little bit more with each consecutive sentence.]

But if people generally have strong feelings about some of the pairs we separate, we should think hard about the others we put together! We can't just throw whatever at a wall and hope something sticks every week.

So if there's someone you do want to choose you, it isn't a bad idea to say it!

Sure. Hmmmm... of the guys?

[ Kasque considers this for a couple of seconds. ]

Not particularly. Though there are a few of them I still haven't really talked to yet.

[Another unknown variable... She really is someone who's willing to go along with something as long as it's easy.] We still have a little time. Maybe someone will surprise you.

[Since it's the men who'll be making a choice this week, their choices are the ones the group should focus on now. Trying to think what ten people will choose is much easier than thinking of twenty.]

Is there a girl? [Given the slight sparkle in her eyes, there's the distinct impression that this question is for chatter rather than strategy.]

...There are least more girls who are less lame. Not anyone I seriously "want to choose me."
