Week 1 Mingle;
❤ Week 1 Mingle
Welcome to a new week, lovebirds! Monday dawns gray and misty, and it's actually not long before a thunderstorm rolls in! You can, of course, kiss dramatically in the yard in the rain and risk getting struck by lightning-- or you can stay inside, cuddle in the conversation pit, USE THE GODDAMN BOOM BOOM ROOM or do anything else until the storm blows over by the evening! Don't worry, the rest of the week will be bright and sunny and beautiful!
There's also a new section of the house, weirdly enough! There's a bright turquoise door located near the bedroom and opening it leads to... a massive indoor pool. The water is a pleasant temperature, there's a hot tub, there's an assortment of flotation devices for those of you who might have trouble swimming (tubes, life vests, boogie boards, pool noodles that can also be used to wage Deadly Combat if you are Sara and Kasque or Jeritza or anyone else ready for Violence). And if you somehow didn't pack a swimsuit because why on earth would your canon let you have one--
Worry not!! There's a rack of swimsuits in every size you lot could need! The catch (or not): they're all sexy. Like. Barely there sexy. Impossibly adhering to you sexy. Shoelaces would maybe cover more sexy. Absolutely great to play Chicken Fight in sexy. You get the idea.
Anything having to do with being able to write is still also Not Present.
Enjoy!!!

If you weren't taking your own circumstances into consideration, that's literally what it was.
[ it just is. she doesn't regard it with some form of amazement. she's just surprised kasque would care that much, and she's not sure how to feel about it— ]
... If you'd rather I call it selfish, because you couldn't handle someone you care about suffering, I could view it that way as well. Though, again. I suppose what I think about it doesn't really matter.
[ —or if she should feel anything about it at all, because it isn't her. ]
Either way, your right choice... What you did doesn't change. You stole your Milla's duty... How did she take that?
no subject
[ She sighs again. ]
And I didn't see her reaction. I lied to her face, said tch, yeah, of course you're gonna do it! Can you imagine if it was me? Everyone like, ugh, have you seen how she dresses, there's no way I'm worshipping her!
[ Kasque slides her finger under the edge of her swimsuit and snaps it, not meeting Milla's eyes again. ]
Then I just told her the wrong place for the ritual. By the time she got suspicious and found my letter it was too late.

Not babes. Milla.
[ first of all. again. she refuses to be named that, and she's stubborn enough about the most tedious of things to remain steadfast about that. it gives her time to think about the mess that kasque just served her, the snap of the swimsuit hardly startling her. ]
I do think I'd be able to stand you less if you were that noble, to be honest.
[ which, again, she doesn't think really matters.
but she isn't judging kasque's motivations, nor is she in any position to critique how she handles her duties... though she does wonder for a moment how a world with such a... relaxed god looks like? such a human god?
and she wonders, too, what kasque considers "too much." ]
... So. Was that letter the last time you interacted with her, then?
no subject
[ Kasque just manages a vague noise of affirmation to most of that. ]
She didn't end up living her life. Some other stuff happened, and, well, long story short, she ended up asleep for a while.
[ eight hundred years ]
Now she's all back in mission-mode. I've seen her, from up in the sky, but we haven't talked.

[ from the looks kasque still gives her, at times. there's a moment where "well, thanks for telling me this" sits on her tongue, as that's the proper thing to say to someone spilling their life story...
milla can't really find it in herself to say it. like she had already made clear, she didn't want to hear all this. a thank you would sound painfully hollow and senseless in the face of that, and she can't help but be petty, too.
there's no less weight on her chest. just a confirmation of a milla that's less like her, and more like her. ]
... With all you said, I wonder why they'd drag someone like me in place of her. Why a half-assed connection like this has a place in a game where you need to find your "Perfect Match".
no subject
...I don't think you're my "perfect match," for the record. Well, I've got no clue what that would look like, to be honest, but there's no way that me thinking about someone else all the time and you constantly wondering what I'm comparing you to is gonna be "perfect," right?
[ Kasque sighs again and straightens, half turning away before pausing. ]
...I do think... I'd like to see you happy. Even if you're not her. It would be nice. So that's why I was telling you to unwind a little and have fun.
no subject
alongside the other mess of things in her mind right now. the "i know what you're comparing me to"s, or "it's too close to my own baggage to not matter"s or everything else.
for a moment, milla wonders... and decides not to, anymore. ]
I won't make any promises I can't keep.
[ she's not sure how happy she can be. kasque deserves the honesty.
and, after a pause, she adds: ]
... But, thanks. For that, and the rest of... you know.
[ it doesn't feel right to leave that caged by spite, after a line like that. ]
no subject
For dumping a bunch of history on you that has nothing to do with you and you didn't want to hear anyway? Yeah, no probs. Anytime, b—Milla.
[ She moves to go again, then pauses again. ]
...Maybe sometime you can tell me what your deal is. It sounds like you've had this kinda thing happen before, and it's a seriously weird thing to happen more than once.
no subject
Ugh... I knew I shouldn't have said it.
[ honestly. ]
... We'll see. I'll take back my thanks for the history dump, and we can consider that getting even instead.
no subject
Speaking of which...
[ Kasque retrieves her staff, and with a crackle of purple energy, she is suddenly in a swimsuit with actual coverage. She could have been doing that the whole time, apparently. ]
/2
of course she could do that. of course.
she takes back what she said about standing kasque. she Cannot Stand Kasque. ]
... Now I'm leaving.
[ yeah. was kasque leaving?? milla's leaving first, walking past kasque and her ayto's next top model act. she's had enough of the swimming pool now. ]
no subject
... And that one is my suggestion.
[ she looks nice, in milla speak.
but she's still mad and doesn't want to hear the response, so she just Walks Faster to the turquoise door leading to the bedroom after she says it.
BYE KASQUE. ]
no subject
[ Kasque's eyes widen a little at that, but fortunately Milla isn't looking anyway. So she just lets her go without further comment. That way they're both safe.
Kasque is going to wear this suit to go lounge in the pool now, though. ]
