[ It's Time.

The Overseer will call everyone outside, to the area. She stands at the podium behind a screen bearing two handprints, while the guys can sit in the seats and the ladies + Diamond will be directed to stand on the platform-- and Cyrus and Douki-chan continue to be seated together.

Behind her and off to the side, there are eight beams of light. ]

Hello, everyone. Choices for our third week have been made. When a couple has been announced, please come forward and place your hands on the screen. You will be locked in.

Once all couples have locked in, the lights will go out. For every couple that is a Perfect Match, a beam of light will appear. To win this game, you will need all eight beams lit. If no new beams have been added per week, you will encounter a blackout and one of you will be chosen at random to lose your wish.

Due to the unfortunate departure of Dohalim, Kuchiha and Vivy, our matchmakers have changed some of the Perfect Matches and also discovered a trio of three. I will inform one of the three of this development next week, to assist them.

I was thinking about that earlier. At the very least, it seems like the two of you would have an easier time understanding him and introducing him to new experiences.

[That's hard for someone who mostly has experience with the ordinary to do. Marcille sounds a little exasperated with Cassius'...like, everything, still, but there's true fondness underneath.]

She sighs. She really just thought Zagreus and Cassius was hot, but now she's considering it as a real possibility. What is happening. ]

I don't know how much either of them are gonna be into cosplay. Could be fun anyway, though, so I'll check out the closet again.

[Yeah, Kasque, thank you so much for explaining lap dances to him. That didn't almost kill her last night way more than almost falling off the couch could have killed her.

If she thinks too much about half of this conversation she might have time to let her feelings get the better of her, so she'll just stick her nose in Kasque's business a different way.]

I have no idea what that is. [There's a brief pause while she tries to use context clues to decipher cosplay but comes up empty handed.] Why don't you just pick out something that you like? Last night you seemed to be having a lot of fun.

It just means playing around with costumes. I had fun with it myself, but Cassius is probably too literal to get it, and Miko wouldn't want to do anything silly.

[ Like pretending to be a swooning maiden. ]

...Which kinda makes me want to be as silly as possible. Do you think a sexy catgirl maid is cultural appropriation?

[She also isn't entirely keyed in to some of the terms Kasque is using now, but she comes to the closest approximate idea she can.]

I don't think Izutsumi would be happy about seeing you try to pull it off.

Miko also found it offensive to be called a beastkin, and she thinks of herself as neither one nor a demihuman. [She'd put her foot into her mouth quite quickly when it came to Yae's appearance at their first meeting... Understandable, even if she had just been excited at the possibility of learning something that might help her friends.] Would it be fun for you?

[ That's a lot of words Kasque doesn't know, but she gets the idea it's falling on the side of "yes, sexy catgirl is cultural appropriation." ]

Probably, but it was just an idea. Maid's not really my thing anyway. And I bet there's plenty of other ridiculous fetish costumes in that closet.

There's certainly a lot in there I didn't take a second look at. [For someone from Marcille's world, there are still a lot of fashion concepts to figure out. She has to master cute before she can even start thinking about sexy.]

Would the costume be for them or for you?

Yeeeeah, mostly for me. I guess if they go "oh god, what is she wearing, there's no way I would be seen with her" that tells us all something. Kinda seems unlikely, though. But I don't think they're gonna be like "wow, she's suddenly bangin' hot, I gotta jump on that," either.

[ Picturing either Yae Miko or Cassius saying those things is an adventure. ]

[Cassius might say it if she taught him to repeat it back to her like a parrot, to be fair.

Still, it sounds like Kasque might be using the costumes like armor. But what's what actually going to protect that way?]

Why don't you wear something that makes you feel beautiful instead?

Whaaaat? I'm beautiful no matter what.

Obviously. [Marcille confirms that immediately and freely. Of course Kasque is beautiful.]

So I think you should feel that way. That doesn't mean you can't also be... [a very small pause as her brain spins for the correct word] sensuous, but I think any of the three of them would be able to tell.

You think I don't already feel like I'm beautiful?

[ Kasque's tone is dismissive, but also a bit genuinely confused. Of course she is beautiful. What is the difference between knowing that and feeling like it? ]

[This time, Marcille is actually quiet for a little while because she has to think of exactly how she wants to say what she means - and before that, what she means at all.]

That you feel like you deserve their attention.

If you wanted a repeat of the twins you told us about during the party, though, you could put on one of the costumes. Not that I think either of them would act like that - they're both so kind; but that's the point.

[ Kasque also has to consider her response to that one for a while. ]

...I sort of get what you're saying, but it's not like that. It's more about, mmmm... what they're being attentive to? With those idiot twins, they were obsessed with me because my power helped them once. Well, when you're God, obviously most of the attention you get is for that kind of reason. I hate that kind of thing, so I'd rather it be for playful stupid stuff.

And before you say something like "it should just be for you being yourself, though," it's not like I don't know that. But I've been God for a long time, and there's not like... a dress I can put on that will suddenly get rid of that.

... Some things have been in place for such a long time that it's difficult to move them. Here or there, it doesn't stop being a part of you. [It's a reminder that she probably needed.

What's a few weeks, really, to any of them, but especially to people like Kasque, like Zagreus? It's a drop not in a bucket but a veritable ocean. She thinks she can understand it, even if that understanding is small.]

...As long as you're trying, then I'm fine with it. So, what do I do to help?

[ There's a struggle clearly visible on Kasque's face now. ]

...Well, it's not a part of me, really. But it's not something I can just shrug off and go back to being "myself." Even if I could ditch it, at this point I dunno what it would leave behind.

Like an omelet... [Marcille looks equally introspective in the silence between Kasque's reflection and deflection. Her lowered gaze lifts back up and is scrutinizing for a second. She's pushed enough, right? But the urge to be stubborn......]

I still have a lot to learn about what's stylish in this place and time, but I'm not exactly letting that stop me, either. [Given the speed with which she managed to dress herself and a few others in more modern clothes this week, she really seems to be getting a handle on it already. She's always been a fast study.] We'll find you something.

[How disappointed Marcille will be to find Kasque in the closet come Monday trying on catgirl, maid, and catgirl maid outfits.]
