Welcome to a new week, lovebirds!

Today's weather is... snowing? Soft, gentle flakes on Monday and then a good deal of snow on Tuesday and dear god a fucking blizzard on Wednesday! Holy shit! Well. Play out in the snow, have good-natured or absolutely petty snowball fights or make snow angels while you can. There's at least plenty of warmth in the house, including prominently displayed tins of cocoa and bags of fluffy marshmallows.

Worry not, all of the snow will be gone by Thursday. And in terms of a new room...

A golden door leads to a... ballroom? Cool! It's lavishly decorated but not much else is going on there. For now. Hm!

Anything having to do with being able to write remains Sir Not Appearing In This Show.

[Bright and obtrusive, yet celebratory. Cyrus approaches Marcille (and Diamond), arms wide open, at the first opportunity to present itself.]

You look quite pleased. My warmest congratulations on your result, my dear.

Cyrus! [She's actually able to go in for the hug without reservations this time, and she does.]

I think it's a good result. We still have a lot to do to understand one another better... and it's positive for the house's chances too.

[It's been exactly two weeks, hasn't it? He rests his hands on her back, giving it a pat, once her arms envelope him.]

I think so as well. Fret not—you'll have plenty of time to better understand each other in the suite.

[It's a comfortable hug, and with the house having been mostly deprived of his company since he and Aoko moved to the Honeymoon Suite, it's nice just to have his calming, curious presence around.]

Putting two people alone together for most of their remaining time does seem like a good way to force some things out...

You've probably had the opportunity to study more about Aoko in great detail.

[She really, really does mean it like that! ...She means it maybe a little bit like that, judging from her expression. ...But, knowing Cyrus...]

[Cyrus is, once again, blind.]

Oh, yes—and she, myself. Our time in the suite has been most enlightening and invaluable. Still, it'll be beneficial for Aoko to be able to enjoy the company of good friends again.

[saucerous]

[Yeah, knowing Cyrus, her initial inclination had been correct after all. Poor Aoko - and after their subterfuge mission to get that swimsuit from the pool room, too.]

I'm looking forward to seeing her again! It'll be different when it isn't just at the ceremony. And Dia will be happy...they seem happy now, too, right?

[Poor swimsuit.]

I'd never seen them happier—in no small part because of you, I'm sure.

[Marcille ducks her head a little bit at that, biting her lower lip.

Then the tears definitely start to come back, and she finds herself completely unable to say anything in response.]

[Cyrus is not entirely sure what's brought the tears on. But he knows that this—all of this—probably means something special to her. Marcille carries so much in her heart. In lieu of prying straightaway, he rests one hand on her shoulder and offers a handkerchief with the other.]

Here you are.

[He's still so bizarrely charming, and it still manages to catch her off guard. Marcille smiles - the tears are clearly happy ones - and dabs at both cheeks with the offered handkerchief.]

I really don't think I expected an outcome like this.

[aldaft]

[His own heart warms at the display. The joy that wells in her eyes is a marked improvement from the lonely dullness that pervaded them weeks prior.]

Whyever not?

Cyrus! You saw.

[ Their typical bright excitement at seeing him is only dimmed by the current rush of feelings they're having— they're still a little jittery from the booth. Maybe that's why their hug is a little more gentle than usual, taking extra care not to squeeze him too hard. ]

It's really fortunate, isn't it? Not just for us... for everyone.

[aldaft]

[He expects it this time, so he's able to return the gesture by bringing his arms around Diamond. It helps that they don't squeeze all the air out of his lungs, which is telling in its own way.]

Didn't I tell you, my friend? The future is bright. Now we're two steps closer to the truth of everyone's matches, while you and Marcille can enjoy the time set aside for you at the suite.

[reappraise]

[ They keep forgetting about the honeymoon suite..... their face lights up a little. ]

Mm, right.... we still have much to learn about each other. But I'm looking forward to it. A lot, really.

[ Which is putting it lightly. ]

That means you and Aoko can show us around, right? Or will we be separated still?

[Time on the island post-truth booth is another chapter of the same journey. Cyrus is also eager to see how their relationship develops once they move out.]

Seeing as Aoko and I have been the only ones for some time now, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that question. However, in the event we found ourselves in the same vicinity, I would be delighted to.

Hmmmmmm, I'd like us all to be together, of course.... I'm sure Marcille misses the two of you just as I do....

[ the gears. they are turning in their head. How can they employ their skills to solve this situation? ]

Maybe if I ask the Overseer really nicely...?

[Asking the Overseer is an option. Cyrus raises an upturned hand.]

First, let us see whether our placements are nearby. In the event we are, we'll surely stumble across each other soon enough.

Really?

[ Currently, they're imagining like... a mansion, or something. Would it be that easy to find each other, even if they were somewhat near? ]

I suppose the island can't be big enough to keep us all that far from each other... well, between Marcille and myself, we'll be able to find you in no time. [ Because in their mind, they and Marcille are the best at figuring out where ✨a loving couple✨ like Cyrus and Aoko might be hanging out. ] Maybe we can all go on a double date...? Or do you think Aoko would be too shy?

I wonder . . .

[On the one hand, he thinks she might be delighted to spend more time with Diamond and Marcille.]
