The winners of the first challenge have been announced: Cyrus and Douki-chan, Milla and Jeritza and Ash and Diamond. The Overseer extends her earnest congratulations and promises to meet them on Wednesday morning to take them out on the island for their date.

Everyone will be expected to wear a swimsuit underneath any clothes they have on (and the Overseer has thoughtfully provided a change of cute/cool swimsuits in lieu of the Super Sexy ones this time) as they're taken out on a boat to the middle of the ocean and given floaties or snorkeling equipment in order to--

Swim with the dolphins! The dolphins are very eager to make new friends and help anyone who has trouble swimming, though if Diamond chooses to forgo floating and chill at the bottom of the ocean, the dolphins will be able to hang out with them down there too. There's also three floating platforms where our couples can enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and some bonding time while watching the dolphins frolic! If they want to swim over and hang out on one platform as a six-person powwow, this is also fine.

As the sun starts to set, the boat will take you all back to the house.

Yeah well, people like them never wanna hear it. But it's not my problem, at least while me and Mar are here.

[ You'd think that would be said coldly, but it's said more resigned than anything else. ]

[At least while they're here, which means that's liable to change once they aren't. There's a lot Cyrus has learned today that reflects very interestingly on Ash. If only he could have heard more about the village . . .

He straightens with a smile.]

If I may . . . would it be possible to meet Mar before we part ways at the show's finale?

[gilden]

Just don't forget about your end of the deal! [ He hates awkward conversations as much as he hates serious ones. ]

You wanna meet him? Why?

[aldaft]

[Ah, yes. The deal. He nods; he won't forget.]

You didn't come to the island alone. It would be remiss of me to disregard the presence of someone so important to you.

[gilden]

Ah, uh, yeah, sure. [ As Cyrus knows now, this isn't the usual reception he's used to getting with Mar. ]

We've always been together so it's been weird being apart, but it'll be worth it for my wish in the end.

[aldaft]

[He meant what he said; however, he's also curious. Meeting Mar may give him some more insight into Ash.]

Would you be willing to share what that is?

[gilden]

'Course! It's not like it's a secret or anything: a lifetime's supply of money for me and Mar.

[ What is a lifetimes supply of money... ]

[aldaft]

[A steady job.]

And what of your match?

[There's no judgment in his tone. Ash clearly has a lot of love for Mar. Cyrus simply wants to know where the perfect match would slot into this picture.]

[gilden]

Someone who's filthy rich!

[ ... ]

And who doesn't try to hurt Mar. I can work with everything else.

[aldaft]

A reasonable condition. But if your wish is for wealth, is it necessary for your match to be affluent as well?

[ He thinks about it for a moment.]

There's always catches with things like that, so yeah. And wealth is...everything.

If they were poor I wouldn't be able to—

[gilden]

...it's the only way to be sure.

[aldaft]

[Hmm.]

. . . Indeed. All we know about the wishes is that they're a possibility. We know little else about the extent to which they can come true, much less how they'll be granted. There is wisdom in erring with caution.

[gilden]

[ He nods and then smiles, slipping easily back into his usual demeanor. ]

Yeah, you get it. What's your wish, anyway? Is it to read one hundred books at once?

[aldaft]

Ahaha! As convenient as that would be, a similar effect can be achieved by lessening the load between my fellow scholars. No, my wish is to discover records and tomes that have long been lost to the realm.

[gilden]

...yeah, that makes sense too. [ His smile is a little brighter. ]

Any lost books, or are you looking for one in particular?

[aldaft]

[He shakes his head.]

Any knowledge is knowledge still. Scholars learn from the past in order to understand the present and guide the future. By retrieving knowledge that was once lost to the realm and disseminating it to the people of today, I hope to lay down the foundations of a better future.

[gilden]

As long as you know what you're getting into. Learning what we did about the dragon and the potions...I think some of my party members would have been happier not knowing.

[aldaft]

The truth is not always pleasant . . . However, turning a blind eye would mean condemning those ensnared in it. No matter how ugly, I would rather know than not know at all.

[gilden]

I can see that, at least from you.

[ He doesn't trust much to be honest, but this is some measure of trust in Cyrus. ]

I'm just glad I don't need to worry about what me and Mar are gonna do next, least for a little while. The Dragon will still be dead when I get back.

[ laughs in voice of cards ]

[aldaft]

[Oh, no.]

And should all go well here, the Queen's reward will be mere pittance to your wish.

[No loss for Ash there, then.]
